Very beautiful and cute little bronze sculpture. This is a contemporary bronze from Vienna designed by Walter Bosse for Herta Baller.

It represents a cat whose function is a thermometer. This designer created small office bronzes for this brand that had a purpose. They were not just decorative objects.

A thermometer in the shape of a birdcage has been added to this bronze. It is made of gilded metal with a plastic bell. Estimated period: mid-20th century, 1950. The black and gold patina is still present.

The only small defects are that the thermometer no longer works and there is a small crack on the plastic cage visible in the photos. Please carefully observe the photos as they are an integral part of the description.

This item comes from a large family collection. Dimensions: 12 x 5.5 x 16 cm. Weight without cage: 214 grams.
