Bronze Ashtray Sculpture from Vienna signed Bergmann GESCHÜTZT Art Nouveau Venus

  
Superb and magnificent bronze sculpture from Vienna, marked and signed by Bergmann (foundry mark), Geschützt, and numbered 4263. It can also serve as a small catch-all dish. It depicts a vegetable (a turnip) with a naked woman in a fetal position represented in bas-relief at its center. The title of the work is "The Birth of Venus.

" Late 19th century, around 1900. It features numerous intricate details such as the veins of the leaves, the roots, and the goddess's face is very delicate. A very beautiful piece for decoration or collection. Dimensions: 16.5 x 6.5 x 2.5 cm.

It is over 150 years old! Signs of aging on the patina with some traces of oxidation and the Geschützt signature is slightly faded.
