"Diane la Chasseuse", also known as "Diana Nemorensis" and "Artemis. She was revered by many as the goddess of hunting, animals, woods, and the moon. In Capua and Aricia, localities near Rome, there are still sanctuaries dedicated to her. Her sanctuary in Aricia was located on the edge of Lake Nemi.
For this reason, she was named Diana Nemorensis - Diane of the Woods. This sculpture depicts the beloved goddess with her powerful spear in hand and standing atop a boar. A sword wraps around her hip and her alluring robe billows in the wind. Her feminine body is curved and voluptuous.
Her wavy hair is wild and blows across her face. Over time, Diana has become a popular feminist figure.
